OCFA says goodbye to K9 on his retirement

A hard working member of the Orange County Fire Authority is saying goodbye and getting a well deserved break.

Freedom, the OCFA’s Accelerant Detection K9, is retiring after seven years of service.

“Freedom, we thank you for your dedicated service in keeping our community safe,” the OCFA said. “Enjoy the well-deserved treats, attention and celebration. You have earned it.”

In a social media post, the OCFA shared video and images of Freedom, an ATF-trained and certified accelerant detection K9 who helped the residents of Orange County.

Throughout his career, Freedom has responded to over 200 scenes across California and nationwide alongside his handler, Captain Miller.

Freedom was also involved in multiple activations with the ATF National Response team, the OCFA said.
