Pedestrian dead after being struck by vehicle on Niagara Falls Boulevard

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A pedestrian died on Thursday after being struck by a vehicle on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Wheatfield, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Police said at 6:44 a.m., they received multiple reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

A Jeep SUV was traveling northbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard when it reportedly struck the pedestrian, who subsequently suffered trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep is cooperating with police and the name of the pedestrian is being withheld by police pending notification to family.

The investigation remains ongoing.
