SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany woman has died as a result of a crash on Route 9 in Saratoga Springs on Tuesday, according to the Saratoga Springs Police Department. The incident occurred near East West Road and had closed all lanes of Route 9 for most of the day.
A preliminary investigation found that a pickup truck was reportedly stopped on the road’s shoulder due to mechanical issues when it was hit by a southbound tractor trailer. The pickup truck driver, identified as 43-year-old Denise Howard, was initially taken to Albany Medical Center for serious injuries but later died, police said on Wednesday.
