Great Rivers Greenway seeks extras for new documentary

ST. LOUIS – Great Rivers Greenway is searching for people to serve as extras for an upcoming documentary set to air next year.

The film is a part of the new documentary, “Route 66: Main Street of America.” Filming for the documentary is set happen Monday between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Chain of Rocks Parks, located at 10840 Riverview Drive.

According to a social media post from Great Rivers Greenway, the film is about “people who are working to revitalize and reconnect what is unique and special about their community in cities and towns from Chicago to Los Angeles.”

The organization is searching for people of all ages, as well as pets, to highlight various interactions throughout the park and the Old Chain of Rock Bridge. The organization aims to capture people walking, running, bicycling, skating, pushing strollers, and more.

The film is set to premiere in theaters and on PBS in fall 2026. For more information on the documentary, click here.
