
Spiritless in Minnesota: The discount aerial transportation company Spirit Airlines will cease services at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune. The bankrupt airline said in a statement that “the decision to end service at MSP and at the Bradley International Airport in Connecticut was part of the company’s ‘ongoing restructuring.’”
Gubernatorial candidate gave false statements: As MPR News reports, “MyPillow founder Mike Lindell defamed the election technology company Smartmatic with false statements that its voting machines helped rig the 2020 presidential election, a federal judge in Minnesota ruled Friday.”
Corn dog recall: Fifty-eight million pounds of one of Minnesota Statefairgoers’ favorite treats have been recalled, as KARE 11 reports. The “corn dog products are being recalled after five people were injured due to “pieces of wood” being in the batter. … The Hillshire Brands Company says pieces of wood could be in the batter of their corn dog and sausage on a stick products made between March 17 and Sept. 26.”
MSP upgrade nearly complete: A $600 million renovation is nearly complete at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, according to the Pioneer Press. The goal is to reduce future congestion. “MSP is the 17th-busiest airport in the United States. The airports commission estimates that annual passenger numbers will increase from 37.2 million in 2025 to over 50 million by 2040.”
