Richmond homicide victim mourned

(KRON) — A Richmond homicide victim’s family is raising donations for his funeral after he lost his life to gun violence.

Jerry Williams, 28, of Richmond, was shot on Lincoln Avenue on the night of September 19. Officers were alerted to the shooting by a ShotSpotter activation, and Williams died at the scene.

A verified GoFundMe page states, “We’re trying to raise money for Jerry Williams who was murdered on the streets of Richmond. Jerry was known as a lovable, funny, sweet, hardworking man who went above and beyond to make everyone’s day better.”

“He meant so much to so many people and he will be missed incredibly,” the page writes.

Williams’ death was the city’s second homicide in 2025.
