SOUTH ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Tower Grove Park officially began its major renovation project on Thursday, aiming to modernize core facilities and restore historic structures.
The groundbreaking ceremony, held near the Piper Palm House, marks a key phase of the park’s Common Ground campaign.
The project includes construction of a new Event Support Building—featuring restrooms, a concession stand and a catering kitchen—as well as the restoration of four historic Victorian pavilions.
These upgrades will improve accessibility, functionality and visitor experience while preserving the park’s historic charm.
Funded in part by a $500,000 Save America’s Treasures grant and support from local foundations, the project is one of the most significant in the park’s recent history.
Work will be ongoing, with updates shared throughout the construction period. For the community, it’s a renewed investment in one of St. Louis’s most beloved public spaces.
