Long lines and thousands of buns, dogs and squirts of mustard are expected at The Wieners Circle Tuesday, with the iconic Chicago restaurant preparing to giveaway free hot dogs thanks to Bears’ quarterback Caleb Williams‘ touchdowns in Sunday’s game.
“It’s going to be completely insane,” Evelyn Morris, a manager at The Wieners Circle told NBC Chicago Monday. “They’ve been calling me all day, they’ve been stopping by, ‘when do I get my free hot dog?’”
The promise from the famous hot dog joint, known for its food and snarky attitude, came Friday, when the store posted on social media that if Williams threw four touchdowns against the Cowboys, free hot dogs would be served up Tuesday.
Moments after Williams threw his fourth touchdown in Sunday’s game, the restaurant posted a hilarious response, calling for beef backup.

By Monday afternoon, deliveries with dozens of boxes of brand new Vienna Beef hot dogs were spotted getting carted into the restaurant.
On a typical Tuesday, The Wieners Circle sells about 400 dogs, Morris told NBC Chicago’s Patrick Fazio. For the giveaway, they’ve ordered ten times that amount, Fazio said.

According to a release, longtime Chicago bakery and Wieners Circle bun supplier S. Rosen’s said it was partnering with the hot dog joint to help out with the poppy seed buns.
The giveaway is set to begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, continuing through 8 p.m. or until the restaurant runs out of dogs. Morris told Fazio customers will know the final hot dog has been served if the joint locks the doors and kicks visitors out.
And just because the hot dog is free doesn’t mean you shouldn’t bring cash.
“You’d better not call me again,” Morris said. “Recognize the hot dog is free, but you’d better but a tip in my bucket.”
