SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)– San Diego Padres superstar right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. makes a difference on and off the baseball diamond.
Tatis Jr. announced Tuesday the launch of the Fernando Tatis Full Count Foundation, his charitable nonprofit organization, which aims to support young athletes and strengthen the future of baseball by providing financial literacy education and assistance, according to a press release.
The native of the Dominican Republic has partnered with Junior Achievement to promote programs that will help teach the new generation of players to secure their financial futures, while allowing them to focus on their love for the game.
“Launching the Fernando Tatis Full Count Foundation is about giving back to the game I’ve loved since I was a kid,” Tatis Jr. said in a press release. “It’s about giving that next generation of kids the support they need to chase their dreams on the field and beyond.”
The foundation will host finance and investment workshops in Arizona and Florida for players participating in Spring Training next year, with online seminars scheduled to begin in 2026, offered for college players and prospects.
Additionally, the foundation is expected to be made available to players in the Dominican Republic by late 2026.
The resourceful foundation will also award scholarships to graduating high school baseball players in the United States and Latin America who are pursuing a college degree in finance or a business-related major.
The Padres just claimed a playoff berth on Monday evening after beating the Brewers, while Tatis Jr., the three-time All-Star is having a career year, scoring 108 runs through 152 games.
