First day of fall kicks off at Great Pumpkin Farm

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — Fall is officially here and what better way to celebrate than with a trip to the Great Pumpkin Farm?

The Clarence attraction is celebrating its 30th year. Farm leaders say it just keeps getting bigger and better.

“It’s great to be open for another season. This is our 30th year in business, and we’ve gotten bigger and better every year,” said COO Benjamin Schultz. “We’re just happy to be open again, and it’s great to see people out here enjoying themselves.”

If you’re worried about finding the perfect pumpkin, Schultz said you won’t have to look far.

“We’re the Great Pumpkin Farm, so we can’t run out of pumpkins,” he said. “We have a great network of local growers that keep us stocked up. As the season goes on, we get more and more.”

Visitors can also enjoy hayrides, the corn maze, fresh cider and treats from the Pumpkin Palace Bakery. This year, the farm has added a new pedal car track for guest to enjoy.

“We’re open every single day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., but on the weekend is when our festival runs — lots and lots of activities — corn maze, hayride, train ride,” Schultz said. “We’ve added a pedal car track, we’ve got our witch’s brew bar. For those that like to enjoy adult beverages, we’ll have the football game on in there this weekend and face painting for the little kids.”

The farm is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. now through Oct. 31.

With cooler weather rolling in, Schultz said there’s no better time to enjoy the season before winter arrives.
