Things to do this weekend in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The weekend has arrived once again and San Diego is popping with fun. From beachside concerts, foodies festivals and art on display, here are some things to do across the region:

Taste of Gaslamp

This annual, self-guided culinary tour in San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter returns Saturday, allowing attendees to sample signature small bites from over 20 participating restaurants. The event features a tasting tour with a map to guide guests through the neighborhood, and includes and an official after-party with live music.

Super Girl Surf Pro

The largest all women’s surf festival is set to bring back top contenders to the Oceanside Pier all weekend long. The three-day event, which begins Friday, includes 17 live concerts, fitness and wellness classes, celebrity speakers and panels, local food tents, mentorship programs, and more. The event is free to attend.

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Show

Grab the kids and head to Pechanga Arena on Sunday to catch all the fun and excitement. Brand new this year, the event will feature a “Glow-N-Fire!” show that organizers say is sure to wow the crowd. Fans can also expected to see a full array of Monster Trucks and even a motocross team.

Belmont Park’s Dipper Dash 5K

Run, ride, and rally for a cause during Belmont’s third annual community 5K on Sunday. The race is family-friendly with a specialty course for the little ones. After the race, stick around for the Fall Fest with live music, rides, as well as seasonal food and drinks. Registration is still open.

Artwalk Carlsbad

This free event invites guest to view fine art on display, including painting, sculpture, glass work, fine jewelry, photography and more. On both Saturday and Sunday, the area above the Carlsbad Flower Field will turn into the venue. More than 150 fine artists’ work will be featured, along with interactive art for families at “KidsWalk.” There will also be live music and food trucks.
