Suspect, victim in San Jose triple homicide identified

(KRON) — The suspect in a San Jose triple homicide Tuesday was named by police, just hours after one of the victims was identified. The victim, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner, was Tarrah Lynn Taylor, a 26-year-old San Jose woman.

Taylor was one of three people found shot to death early Tuesday morning at a residence on the 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue. Officers, at the time, identified the victims as two women and one man.

The suspect has been identified as Joseph Vicencio, 27, of San Jose. He has been booked into Santa Clara County Mail Jail for murder, according to police.

SJPD detectives identified Joseph Vicencio, of San Jose, as the primary suspect.

Two of the victims, the man and one of the women, were taken to the hospital where they later died. One of the women was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Vicencio fled the scene before officers arrived.

“Our detectives acted swiftly, working around the clock to put this violent suspect behind bars,” said SJPD Chief Paul Joseph in a news release. “But that doesn’t change the fact that three innocent lives were taken. This tragedy has affected the families of the three victims, the suspect’s family, and our entire San José community.”

The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet determined.

“Our police department has proven once again that if you harm one of our residents, you will be held accountable,” added San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan.

This remains an active case. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Martinez #3934 or Detective Jize #4324 of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit through email: 3934@sanjoseca.gov and/or 4324@sanjoseca.gov or at 408-277-5283.
