TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Yep, this is real! “Camp Rock 3” is officially in the works with the Jonas Brothers reprising their roles from the 2008 Disney Channel Original movie.

Disney Branded Television announced the news in a Wednesday press release. According to Disney, the new “Camp Rock” will be produced by Demi Lovato, who starred as the protagonist Mitchie Torres in the first two films, and the Jonas Brothers.

“‘Camp Rock’ is an important part of the Disney Channel Original Movie legacy, with unforgettable music, energetic storytelling, and characters that live in the hearts of fans to this day,” said Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television. “Bringing it back with Kevin, Joe, Nick and Demi is such a full-circle moment, and we can’t wait to reintroduce this world to a new generation.”

Joe, Kevin, and Nick Jonas will once again play as Shane, Nate, and Jason Gray, the three brothers in the fictional band Connect 3, as guest stars.

The film will also see the return of “Wizards of Waverly Place” actress Maria Canals-Barrera, who played Mitchie’s mother Connie Torres.

The Disney release states that the story picks up after Connect 3 lose their opening act for a reunion tour, leading them to return to Camp Rock to find “the next big thing.”

“A new cast of stars on the rise joins the movie, including Liamani Segura (“Descendants: Wicked Wonderland”) as Sage, Malachi Barton (“ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires”) as Fletch, Lumi Pollack (“Electric Bloom”) as Rosie, newcomer Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter (“The Thundermans”) as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison,” the Disney release states.

Filming for “Camp Rock 3” began this week in Vancouver.
