TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — United Way of the Greater Capital Region will be celebrating local women and non-profits making significant impacts in education, health, and financial opportunities.
It’s called “Power Pitch,” an event where finalist organizations will provide a TED-talk like Pitch that speaks to how they are building power with the work they are doing now and, in the year, to come. These pitches will be evaluated in real time by a panel of women who are doing their own impactful work.
NEWS10’s Giuliana Bruno sat down with Claire Reid, Chief Impact Officer for United Way of the Greater Capital Region to hear about the event, and the upcoming deadline for agency applications to Power Pitch.
At the end of the evening, one Power Pitch finalist will win a $10,000 award in recognition of their organization’s work. Runners-up won’t leave empty-handed; they’ll also receive financial awards in recognition of their efforts and powerful pitches.
NEWS10’s Giuliana Bruno will emcee the event on December 3rd at Brown’s Revolution Hall in Troy.
