GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Jack Kowalski, the owner of Bud’s on Jay in Schenectady and Bud’s on the Hudson in Green Island, is expanding to Glenville. The new shop will be at 208 Sacandaga Road in the Glen Esk Apartments, right near Scotia-Glenville High School.
Kowalski said the new shop will be called Bud’s Glenville, open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It’ll feature the same menu items as the other two Bud’s locations.
While the coffee shop owner was originally aiming to open this new location in Schenectady County at the end of September, he said it’s looking like the shop will be open sometime in the first two weeks of October to give ample time for the proper equipment to arrive. Kowalski noted that the shops all use the same equipment, allowing for consistency from location to location in terms of operation and repairs.
Kowalski said this has been in the works since earlier this year since the owners of the Glen Esk Apartments reached out to see if they’d be interested in opening up a location on the property. Work began in April of this year before officially taking over the space on July 1.
Bud’s on Jay opened in Schenectady in April 2021 and Bud’s on the Hudson opened a little over a year later in August 2022. Kowalski also revived RAW Juice Bar in Schenectady back in August 2023.
Those in Rensselaer can also look forward to a potential Bud’s location in the future, according to Kowalski. He said things are in the works but there isn’t much that can be shared regarding a timeline or location. Kowalski is also looking to expand his horizons with a 50s-style diner and ice cream shop coming to Niskayuna next year.
