Key Responsibilities Project Accounting: Establish and maintain accurate financial records for development and construction projects within the accounting system. Set up and manage job cost tracking and project codes. Prepare and submit development phase and construction draw requests. Code invoices to the appropriate job cost and general ledger accounts. Generate and distribute job cost reports; perform reconciliations. Produce monthly financial reports and support development and construction managers with financial insights. Respond to draw-related inquiries. Track contracts and maintain organized vendor and project documentation. Streamline and improve the draw process for efficiency. Assist with audit and tax preparation by providing schedules and supporting documentation. Resolve vendor and accounts payable issues. Serve as a liaison between development and accounting teams. General Accounting & Compliance: Maintain financial records for related entities, including managed properties and corporate accounts. Ensure compliance with regulatory filings and certifications at both state and federal levels. File reports and maintain good standing for all entities. Obtain and monitor business licenses. Process bill-backs and track receipts. Perform other accounting duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on development and construction accounting. Familiarity with development and construction project codes and draw processes. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage invoices and contracts efficiently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Ability to meet rigid and/or tight deadlines while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with real estate construction accounting software such as MRI/MRI Job Cost, Nexus (Bottom Line), and NorthSpyre is highly desirable. The target compensation for this role is between $75,000 and $90,000, depending on the candidate’s seniority and experience.
