Where to find pumpkins, corn mazes in Capital Region, Hudson Valley

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)– As fall festivities start to ramp-up, farms around the Capital Region and Hudson Valley are preparing for families to partake in fall outings. From a Sesame Street-themed maze to picking pumpkins off the vine, farms are offering families a variety of options to continue their fall traditions.

Below are farms in the Hudson Valley and Capital Region offering fall activities, as well as apple picking opportunities. Double-check times and dates before you go, as hours and seasonal availability are subject to change and when you’re done, maybe stop for an apple cider donut.

Capital Region:

Albany County:

  • Stanton’s Feura Farm: 2045 New Scotland Rd., Slingerlands
    • The farm officially opens for U-Pick pumpkins and fall farm activities including hayrides and hay and corn mazes on September 20 and 21.

Rensselaer County:

  • Kristy’s Barn: 2385 Brookview Rd, Schodack
    • Kristy’s Barn offers U-pick pumpkins at the end of September. Guests can walk or take a free hayride on weekends down to the patch or search around The Barn for a pumpkin that will make a great Jack-O-Lantern.
  • Liberty Ridge Farm: 29 Bevis Rd., Schaghticoke
    • Liberty Ridge Farm’s pumpkin patch and corn maze opens for the season on September 13 and will be open Thursday through Sunday until November. This year, the 10-acre maze features Elmo and his Sesame Street friends.

Schoharie County:

  • “Pick a Pumpkin” Pumpkin Patch: 2716 Creek Rd, Esperance
    • “Pick a Pumpkin” Pumpkin Patch will open on Thursday, Sept. 25 for pumpkins and activities. They will be open on Thursday and Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They will also be open for Indigenous Peoples Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Montgomery County:

  • Bellinger’s Orchard: 685 Argersinger Rd, Fultonville
    • The pumpkin patch at Bellinger’s Orchard will open on Monday, Sept. 15. The orchard is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The orchard’s corn maze is UFO-themed this year, and its last entry is at 4:15 p.m.
  • Dellavale Farm: 783 Pattersonville Rd, Amsterdam
    • Dellavale’s pumpkin patch opening weekend is September 27. The weekend will feature u-pick pumpkins, horse-drawn wagon rides, a corn maze and vendors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saratoga County:

  • Ellms Family Farm: 448 Charlton Rd, Ballston Spa
    • The season begins for fall activities and pumpkin picking on September 20 with weekend hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and during the weekdays in October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Bowman Orchards: 147 Sugar Hill Road, Rexford
    • Pumpkin picking and fall activities including a corn maze and attractions run on weekends in September and October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Sunnyside Gardens: 345 Church Street, Saratoga Springs
    • The Fall Festival opens the last Saturday of September through Halloween. Visitors can take a hayride to the pumpkin patch.

Hudson Valley:

Columbia County:

  • Samascott’s Garden Market: 65 Chatham Street, Kinderhook
  • Fix Bros. Fruit Farm: 215 White Birch Road, Hudson
    • Fix Bros. Fruit Farm offers cheap pumpkin picking. Pumpkins range in size and shape, with other fruits and veggies up for picking as well. Gourds are also up for sale in the farm stand if you aren’t the U-pick type.
  • Yonder Fruit Farms: 3167 Route 9, Valatie
    • Yonder Fruit Farms will soon be offering pick-your-own pumpkins and gourds.

Ulster County:

  • Kelder’s Farm: 5755 Route 209, Kerhonkson
    • Kelder’s Farm offers pumpkin picking and fall activities until November’s Pumpkin Smash. The farm offers a corn maze, hayrides and over 35 farm attractions for all ages Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Hurds Family Farm: 2187 Route 32, Modena
    • Families can pick pumpkins of varying sizes and prices. Then, they can partake in the other activities on the farm, such as a playground area, train ride, mini-zipline ride, and corn maze. The farm is open every weekend until October 26.

Dutchess County:

  • Fishkill Farms: 9 Fishkill Farm Road, Hopewell Junction
    • The pumpkin patch is located within the orchard from mid-September through October. Each weekend, the farm offers fall festivals for guests to pick-your-own apples, pumpkins, go on wagon rides or get lost in the corn maze.
  • Mead Orchards: 15 Scism Road, Tivoli
    • Mead Orchards offers U-pick Pumpkins as well as a 9-acre corn maze for guests. The maze this year is shaped as a pirate ship.
