About the Role
A large public transportation authority is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee custodial operations across its facilities and fleet, including over 1,000 vehicles and dozens of properties. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Operations Officer, this role manages over 400 staff and contractors and plays a critical role in ensuring safe, clean, and efficient environments for both customers and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead custodial operations across buildings, stations, and fleet vehicles.
- Develop and enforce cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Address customer complaints per organizational policy.
- Oversee labor relations, HR activities, and payroll for custodial staff.
- Support QA/QC programs to improve maintenance effectiveness.
- Use knowledge of building and vehicle equipment to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Develop KPIs and modify programs based on performance metrics.
- Assess manpower and training adequacy.
- Prepare and manage custodial budget.
- Interpret and implement organizational policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.
- 15+ years of custodial and facilities management experience.
- 5+ years of staff supervision experience.
- 5+ years of contract management experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience in the railroad industry.
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors or similar HRIS platforms.
