The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Appleby:

A gorgeous Friday is in store across the region with lots of sunshine. Heading into the weekend, you will notice more clouds and, from time-to-time, spotty showers on the Radar. Much of the weekend time will be spent dry, however, under a mix of sun and clouds. Yet another dry and sunny stretch awaits us for the following work week, this time around, slightly warmer!

High temperatures today will wind up in the low to mid 70s as sunshine mixes with a few midday clouds. Humidity levels today, and all throughout this forecast, will not be noticeable or an issue.

A series of systems to our northwest will send more clouds into our skies later tonight and for the weekend. Even still, I think we will avoid an overcast tonight. As a result, with winds going calm, expect areas of valley fog once again Saturday morning. Temperatures will be similar to this morning, with low in the low 50s locally, and 40s in the outlying areas.

Here’s the thing about our weekend rain chances. The threat is very spotty and, for the most part, light. That said, most of the guidance suggest perhaps a stray downpour or two may be able to get its act together from time to time. On Saturday, the greatest chance for that is up in the North Country. I don’t think any area in particular has a greater downpour risk by Sunday, as we all have a very low-end risk. For the vast majority of us, we will spend 95% of the weekend dry, with a passing light shower briefly interrupting that dry time.

After spending the morning generally dry, the greater risk for a shower Saturday will be later in the afternoon and into the overnight period. Skies will still feature a fair amount of sun, so temperatures will be able to climb a few degrees above average into the mid and even upper 70s.

After a cloudier start to Sunday, I would expect to break out into a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon. That afternoon sun may be self-destruct, providing some instability, or fuel, for a few pop-up showers Sunday afternoon. Once again, the sun will still heat us up, with temperatures very similar to Saturday. Ditto for Monday, however, this time around, skies will be mostly sunny as we stay dry.

Dry weather will carry us through the remainder of the 7-Day Forecast with high temperatures getting closer to, if not above, the 80 degree mark for a few days!
