CATSKILL, N.Y. (NEWS10) — One man and one woman are dead after two separate crashes in Catskill over the weekend. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office said the first crash happened on Saturday, September 13, on Bogart Road.
Deputies were called to the scene of a car that crashed into a tree at 10:49 p.m. An investigation found that a 36-year-old Catskill woman was driving north on Bogart Road in her 2018 GMC Sierra truck, had drifted off the west shoulder, and hit a tree, according to deputies.
The sheriff’s office said the woman was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to another fatal crash on Sunday, September 14, on Route 23A near Underhill Road in Catskill. The sheriff’s office said it received a 911 call for a motorcycle crash around 6:54 p.m.
An investigation found that a 66-year-old Coxsackie man was riding a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Route 23A when he collided with a deer that jumped into the road, deputies said. Emergency medical service performed life-saving measures until the man was air-lifted to Albany Medical Center, and succumbed to his injuries.
