RUSKIN, Fla. (WFLA) — Two men were arrested in connection with a month-long investigation in Ruskin on Tuesday, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies in District 4’s Street Crimes Unit and HCSO’s Gang Unit served a court-authorized search warrant on the 200 block of West College Avenue.

During a search of the residence, deputies recovered 59 grams of cocaine, Alprazolam, cannabis, cannabis sativa resin, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia, an unspecified amount of 9mm and .40 caliber ammunition, and a stolen Smith & Wesson handgun.
Deputies also seized $5,460 in cash.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Carlos Medina Rivera, 42, and Desi Castell, 18, as a result.
According to deputies, Rivera was a 7-time convicted felon.
“This investigation is another example of the dedicated work being done by our deputies to disrupt criminal activity and hold offenders accountable,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Their dedication to protecting our community makes certain that those who endanger others, along with illegal drugs and firearms, are taken off our streets.”
