The search for the Eagles’ next offensive coordinator is underway.
After a disappointing offensive performance throughout 2025, the Eagles on Tuesday moved on from Kevin Patullo as offensive coordinator. The Eagles promoted Patullo to replace Kellen Moore after their Super Bowl LIX victory but the offense never found its rhythm in 2025.
Next season will be Nick Sirianni’s sixth as Eagles head coach and the next OC will be his fifth, following Shane Steichen, Brian Johnson, Moore and Patullo. The next OC will be Jalen Hurts’ seventh different play-caller in his NFL career.
Here are some candidates for them to consider:
Todd Monken: The 59-year-old Monken is available after John Harbaugh was fired by the Ravens after they missed the playoffs. Monken spent the last three years as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator. In his first year in Baltimore, Lamar Jackson was the league MVP and last year Jackson was second in the MVP race. The Ravens won 13 and 12 games in those two seasons before a losing season in 2025. The Ravens finished 6th in offense in 2023 and 1st in 2024. Monken could be the perfect mix of a good offensive mind and someone who likely won’t get hired away as a head coach.
Mike McDaniel: The former Dolphins head coach has been garnering more head coaching interest after getting fired by Miami. But if the 42-year-old doesn’t land a head coaching gig, he could be a really intriguing candidate who comes from the Shanahan coaching tree. In his four seasons as the Dolphins head coach, McDaniel had a 35-33 record and was fired after a 7-10 campaign in 2025. Before taking the job in Miami, McDaniel was run game coordinator and offensive coordinator for five seasons under Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco. Vic Fangio was McDaniel’s DC in Miami in 2023, so it’s unclear how that dynamic would play in Philly.
Kevin Stefanski: The Browns fired Stefanski after six years at the helm in Cleveland and a 45-56 record. While Stefanski’s time with the Browns ultimately didn’t work out, he was saddled with Deshaun Watson and one of the worst trades in NFL history. Stefanski, 43, has Philly roots and seems to have a good relationship with Nick Sirianni. These two teams have held joint practices together for several years. Stefanski is garnering head coaching interest so he might not need to take an OC job. Before becoming the head coach in Cleveland, Stefanski was the OC in Minnesota after working his way up the ranks.
Kliff Kingsbury: The Eagles have shown interest in Kingsbury in 2024 before ultimately hiring Kellen Moore. Kingsbury spent the last two seasons as the Commanders’ offensive coordinator and had some real success with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels in 2024. The Commanders were killed by injuries in 2025 and the team elected to part ways with Kingsbury after the season. Kingsbury, 46, should be a strong candidate if he doesn’t land a head coaching job.
Brian Daboll: While Daboll flamed out as the Giants head coach, he had a strong run as the Bills’ offensive coordinator before that and was the OC and QBs coach at Alabama with Jalen Hurts in 2017. Daboll, 50, was fired during his fourth season as the Giants head coach and finished with a 20-40-1 record. The Giants made the playoffs in Daboll’s first year before getting knocked out of the divisional round by the Eagles. They had losing records in Daboll’s last three seasons.
Nate Scheelhaase: Most of the coordinators on this list are proven commodities but Scheelhaase is the wunderkind on the list. He’s just 35 and was a quick riser through the college ranks. He began his coaching career at Illinois and then went to Iowa State, where he moved up the ladder quickly to offensive coordinator in 2023. For the last two seasons, he has worked under Sean McVay with the Rams and has been their passing game coordinator in 2025.
Zac Robinson: The 39-year-old Robinson is a former Sean McVay assistant, who began his coaching career as an assistant QBs coach with the Rams in 2019 and was their pass game coordinator and QBs coach in 2022-2023. Robinson spent the last two seasons as the Falcons’ offensive coordinator but is looking for a job after head coach Raheem Morris was fired.
Mike Kafka: The Eagles actually drafted Kafka as a QB in the fourth round out of Northwestern back in 2010. While his playing career never really took off, his coaching career did. Andy Reid hired him in 2017 and Kafka held a few different positions in Kansas City before taking the Giants’ offensive coordinator job in 2022. After Brian Daboll was fired this season, Kafka took over as the interim head coach. If Kafka needs another stop before making the jump to head coach, the Eagles might be an ideal spot.
David Shaw: The 53-year-old Shaw was Stanford’s head coach from 2011-2022 before resigning after back-to-back 3-9 seasons. It didn’t eld well at Stanford, but Shaw amassed a 96-54 record in his 12 years there. Shaw got back into coaching and served as the Lions’ passing game coordinator in 2025. He has interviewed with the Buccaneers for their OC opening this offseason. The Lions had the NFL’s No. 3 passing offense this past season.
Mike LaFleur: While LaFleur has been garnering interest as a head coaching candidate, there’s a good chance he doesn’t get one of those gigs. And maybe the 38-year-old might need another spot before his head coaching jump. LaFleur has coached under Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay and has been the Rams’ OC since 2023. But McVay calls the plays in LA. LaFleur was also the Jets’ OC from 2021-2022.
Frank Reich: Eagles fans know Reich well. He was the OC under Doug Pederson for the team’s first Super Bowl win back in 2017 and then went to Indianapolis, where Sirianni was his offensive coordinator. Reich is 64 now so it’s unclear if he wants to keep coaching at a high level but he actually did a nice job as the stop-gap coach for Stanford in 2025.
