A man was arrested for possessing over $1.4 million worth of commercial goods stolen from cargo, the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday.
Detectives arrested 41-year-old Alejandro Aguilar-Espinoza from his East Los Angeles home on Verona Street and found a large amount of stolen merchandise, including Nike shoes, brand-name power tools and other electronic equipment in his home, the LAPD said.
The investigation was conducted as the LAPD worked closely with the Union Pacific Railroad police, LA Port police, LAX police and the LA County District Attorney’s office, police said.
The LAPD expects more arrests will be made in connection with this theft case.

“This investigation underscores the importance of interagency collaboration in combating large scale cargo theft and preserving the integrity of Southern California’s commercial supply chains,” the LAPD said.
